Hélder da Silva Lopes is PhD student at University of Minho (Geography and Regional Planning) and University of Barcelona (Geography, Territorial Planning and Environment Management - Natural Systems and global changes). This PhD is supported by FCT Grant, with project entitled “The influence of climate and urban morphology on the tourism activity of the Oporto Metropolitan Area: Perceptions and simulation of bioclimatic comfort”. Researcher at Landscape, Heritage and Territory Laboratory (Lab2pt), Group of Space and Representations (SpaceR) and Water Research Institute (IdRA), Group of Climatology.
He is Vice-President of Students Association of Geography and Planning (GeoPlanUM).
Graduated in Geography and Planning in 2014 from the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho, with classification of 17 values. MsC in Planning and Management of Territory in same institution, in 2017, with the working entitled “Tourism as a contribution to rural development: the case study of Boticas”, with classification of 20 values. He is also involved in several projects associated to Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Economic Geography, Rural Tourism and Development, Urban Tourism, Climatology and Biometeorology, Social Geography, Health Geography and Ageing and Population.
His main research interests are Tourism and Climate; Urban Geography; Tourism; Urban Tourism; Bioclimatology; Rural Tourism; Environmental Management; Urban Morphology; Urban Climate; Climate Changes; Natural Risks; Health and Tourism and Geographic Information Systems.
